Platform Fit Score

DEFINITION

A score measuring how well a track matches the algorithmic and cultural preferences of a specific streaming platform.

A Platform Fit Score is SongScore's proprietary metric for measuring how well a track's acoustic, structural, and emotional properties align with the ranking preferences of a specific streaming platform. SongScore generates separate Platform Fit Scores for Spotify, TikTok, YouTube Music, and Apple Music — because each platform rewards different audio characteristics.

Each Platform Fit Score (0–100) is calculated from a weighted combination of audio dimensions that correlate with strong performance on that platform. For example, Spotify's score weights completion rate prediction, save intent, and algorithmic playlist fit. TikTok's score weights hook timing, tempo, and energy peak position.

A high Platform Fit Score on one platform does not guarantee a high score on another. A deep ambient track might score 85 on Apple Music and 30 on TikTok — this is an insight about where to focus your release strategy, not a quality judgment.
